Music Photographer Berlin
Berlin is one of the world's great music cities. Techno was born here. Jazz has deep roots here. The city has produced and absorbed artists from every genre, and its venues — from Berghain to the Philharmonie, from SO36 to Quasimodo — span the full spectrum of musical culture. I'm Aaron Jack, a music photographer based in Berlin, with published work in TIME, Vice, BBC, NPR, Bloomberg, and Wired, among others.
Music photography demands speed, instinct, and an understanding of performance. You can't direct a band mid-set. You can't ask a DJ to hold that moment. You have to know where the image is before it happens — and be in the right position when it does. That's a skill built over years, not sessions.
Music Photography Services in Berlin
Concert & Live Performance Photography Berlin
Live concert photography across Berlin's full range of venues — intimate club shows, mid-size theatres, festival stages, and arena events. I work quickly in low-light environments and deliver images that capture the energy and atmosphere of a live performance rather than just the technical execution of it. Available for single-night coverage or multi-date touring documentation.
Artist Portrait & Press Photography Berlin
Portrait and press photography for musicians, DJs, producers, and bands based in or passing through Berlin. Press images for album releases, EPK materials, social media, and editorial placement. I work with artists across the full spectrum — from emerging independent musicians to internationally touring acts — and bring the same editorial standard regardless of career stage.
Electronic Music & Club Photography Berlin
Berlin's electronic music scene is globally unique. The city's club culture — its DJs, its labels, its dedicated communities — has shaped dance music for decades. I photograph Berlin's electronic music world with genuine familiarity: the artists, the spaces, the culture. From Keinemusik to Innervisions, from Watergate to Tresor, I know this world and I photograph it from inside it, not outside.
Jazz & Acoustic Music Photography Berlin
Long-form documentary and performance photography for jazz musicians and acoustic artists. My work with jazz legend Richie Cole and the Pittsburgh Alto Madness Orchestra — spanning over a decade of photography, film, and content — represents the kind of sustained, deep documentary approach I bring to jazz. Berlin has a rich jazz scene centred around venues like A-Trane, Quasimodo, and b-flat. I cover it with the patience and intimacy it deserves.
Music Festival Photography Berlin
Festival photography across Berlin’s major events including Lollapalooza Berlin, Berlin Music Week, CTM Festival, Pop-Kultur, and others. Festival coverage requires stamina, adaptability, and the ability to work across multiple stages, artists, and lighting conditions across multi-day events. I cover festivals for artists, labels, media outlets, and festival organisers.
For Labels, Managers & Booking Agencies
Berlin is home to the global headquarters of BMG, with Sony Music, Warner Music, and Universal Music all operating major German offices here. I work with labels, management companies, and booking agencies to provide photography across their rosters — both for individual artist campaigns and for ongoing content needs. Retainer arrangements available for labels and agencies with regular photography requirements.
Content Strategy for Musicians
Beyond photography, I work with musicians as a content strategist — helping decide which stories to tell, producing the content, building distribution systems, and managing the full editorial calendar. This is the work I did with Richie Cole for over a decade, and it's increasingly what artists at every level need: not just great images, but a coherent strategy for how those images function in the world.
